L-Methylfolate is a cofactor in the production of monoamines serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, which are involved in the regulation of mood and the mechanisms of actions of antidepressants. Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP) is the cofactor involved in the stabilization of carbanions at Ca of amino acids and plays a key role in amino acid metabolism.
